Archive for August, 2011

Just had an audition for the role of a young reporter at a New York small time “Little Italy” newspaper in the 1930’s.
I decided to post this one just because the outfit is cool!
Fingers (and everything else!) crossed…

If you are in Miami or planing to go, here is a great event to meet people and have fun!

I could not let the opportunity escape when, going home, I saw this guy (in the picture below) passing by me. I only had my iPhone camera (which normally sucks) but did the job well (kinda) this time.

I am happy there are (crazy?) people willing to do this on the streets for nothing, I don’t think he has a salary or any other benefit but trying to do his share to promote peace. On the other hand, anywhere and everywhere in the world people also have (serious?) politicians, responsible (???) for the fate of millions, busier than this “one man army” and really (really?) interested in representing the people who elected them. Yeah, right…

I liked the “pro-active” approach and simple but careful choice of positive words: “LET’S WORK”, “WORLD” and “PEACE”.

I never considered myself an activist but this picture was worth posting about. War, Greed, Capitalism, Socialism and other “isms” crossed my mind. It reminded me the 80’s philosopher Ferris Bueller, during his most memorable Day Off:
“I do have a test today. That wasn’t bullshit. It’s on European socialism. I mean, really, what’s the point? I’m not European. I don’t plan on being European. So who gives a crap if they’re socialists? They could be fascist anarchists. It still wouldn’t change the fact that I don’t own a car. Not that I condone fascism, or any ism for that matter. Isms in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon: ‘I don’t believe in Beatles, I just believe in me.’ Good point there. After all, he was the Walrus. I could be the Walrus. I’d still have to bum rides off of people.”

Well… I know this is deep stuff. Let’s lighten things up with a real quote from a real man and that sends us back to the picture that originated this post:
“Be the change you want to see in the world” – Mahatma Gandhi
